Pet dogs and cats dressed up in kimonos gather at a Tokyo shrine to receive blessings at a festival traditionally held to celebrate children's growth. The festival, known as "Shichi-Go-San," meaning seven, five and three, is held each year as a rite of passage for children aged three, five and seven. But with Japan's population in decline, increasing numbers of worshippers are bringing their pets to the event.
