In South Florida, investigators say they found some plane parts nearly four miles from the site of this weekend's private jet crash.

National safety officials say the discovery of tail pieces confirms that the plane was breaking apart before it hit the ground. And they say that, even with the tail intact, it would have been difficult to avoid disaster given the extreme speed of the plane's descent.

We've learned more about the nine victims on board. They include 55-year-old pilot Jeff Gregory, a longtime aviator. He was joined in the cockpit by 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalia Filgueiras, who reportedly earned her pilot's license in high school. The passengers included tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, and their two children. Two family friends also perished, as did the children's caregiver.
