I like to create harmonic constellations by taking chords and then scattering the notes into different octaves playing them one note at a time with an arpeggiator. We'll use a chord progression that cycles through chords in the key of Cminor. Then we'll see what it sounds like if we let the synth keep repeating and arpeggiating the last chord, Cminor11, while the Rhodes plays the full chord progression, like a harmonic constellation nested within another, the way that the stories in the stars extend and flow across the sky. Then we'll turn the synth texture into more of a granular kind of blur and play the arpeggiations on the piano.
