Speculation that President Trump might fire Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over the war in Iran is widespread.
Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie has been pushing to impeach Hegseth since before the midterms, arguing Hegseth should be impeached for how he has conducted the war in Iran. In a five-minute video posted on social media Thursday, Hegseth says his efforts will fail and compares himself to Trump:
"A disgruntled, defeated congressman — along with all his Democrat allies — has also dropped sham articles of impeachment against yours truly — just like they tried against President Trump, twice. ... Didn't work against President Trump, and it won't work with me."
