Democrats celebrated wins across the country on Tuesday as voters repudiated President Donald Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress.

The Democratic Party won control of the Senate and the House of Representatives, flipping key races in Texas, North Carolina, and Maine as well as other states.

Voters turned Texas blue as James Talarico became the first Democrat to win a Senate seat there since 1988. State Rep. Gina Hinojosa will also become Texas’ first Democratic governor in more than three decades, after defeating incumbent Greg Abbott.
