Prime Minister Mark Carney was in the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda for a meeting of Commonwealth leaders, where he said trade talks had resumed with the U.S.
He said Canada's negotiators were already speaking with their U.S. counterparts, and progress was being made. "So I would say, in effect, I'm not splitting hairs, but that process of more intense negotiations has begun," he said.
He said that despite the progress made, the trade talks were not finished yet and added, "They're asking less, and they're offering more."
