China’s state news agency Xinhua unveiled what it calls the world’s first bionic humanoid robot news anchors at the World Media Summit in Beijing on Nov 5.
The two life-size anchors, Xinyan and Xinyu, were built with UBTECH, and their look was designed by film director Zhang Yimou. Xinhua says the robots are ‘a new role in the newsroom, not the new lead.
