According to researchers you may want to reconsider buying a fast-fashion Halloween costume because of the environmental harm created by sythentic garments that are often only worn once before they are discarded.
Javad Nasiry Director and professor at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management says Halloween costumes have become a prime example of hyper-fast fashion and says research shows that high-speed, low-cost production models lead to large volumes of cheap, synthetic materials which end up in the landfill.
Nasiry reccommends recycling costumes, created one from items you already own or renting a costume to reduce your environmental footprint
