The Pentagon is reportedly accusing a recently fired Army general of misconduct amid allegations that he leaked classified information to the media.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth removed Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia from his position overseeing strategy, plans and policy for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Sylvia is the latest senior military official ousted by Hegseth and the second general removed from that same post. The Pentagon has not publicly confirmed a reason for his dismissal and Sylvia has not commented.

Sylvia's removal comes amid reports that the Trump administration is considering renewed military strikes against Iran after the midterm elections.
