Houthi Strike Hits Aramco Refinery as Israel Election Ends in Deadlock

Watch this video on YouTube ↗
Israel’s election remains deadlocked, with neither Benjamin Netanyahu nor Gadi Eisenkot’s bloc reaching the 61 seats needed for a majority. Arab parties could become crucial in coalition talks, while Natan Sachs discusses what the result means for Israel’s political direction and Iran policy.

Regional tensions stay high. The Houthis say they targeted Aramco’s Ras Tanura refinery, while Saudi Arabia reports intercepting missiles and drones. The US has reportedly warned Gulf states about possible renewed strikes on Iran after the midterms. Saudi, Turkish, Pakistani and Qatari officials continue diplomatic efforts with Tehran, and oil rebounds as escalation risks rise.

Markets turn back toward AI. Asian stocks climb, Taiwan and Japan gain, and SK hynix posts stronger earnings while outlining major shareholder returns and warning memory shortages could persist through 2030. Big Tech earnings, Meta’s $25 billion stock sale and Anthropic’s reported JPMorgan IPO mandate keep AI financing in focus.

Ryan Lemand expects the Fed to hold rates now and hike again in December, while Casey Sprake says supply shocks have pushed US inflation higher.

Elsewhere, Standard Chartered, UBS, Santander and BNP Paribas report earnings; Dangote’s refinery IPO reaches its fundraising target; Morocco moves ahead of South Africa in an African investment ranking; and the UK budget comes into focus.
