Democratic candidate Adam Hamilton celebrated a historic victory on Tuesday after winning a U.S. Senate seat in Kansas, ending 94 years of Republican control.
"It's that we're sending a message and that there is time for change and the change is now and Adam Hamilton is the change and he's just an amazing person and someone that I genuinely look up to so I'm excited to see him go to the U.S. Senate," one supporter said.
The victory marks a significant political shift in what’s often regarded as a deep-red state.
“I think I got elected because Kansans were saying we're tired of the bullies. We're tired of the chaos. We’re tired of harming people, we’re no longer going to ignore the pain of our neighbors.” Hamilton said.
