Who does author Min Jin Lee think about when she’s writing?

“I think of readers like me,” she tells PBS News’ Amna Nawaz.

“I'm short for time," she later added. “I want to learn things. I also want to have a really good time because it is a form of entertainment. Novels have always been a form of entertainment.”

Lee, the author of “Pachinko” and “Free Food for Millionaires,” continues her exploration of the Korean diaspora in her new novel, "American Hagwon."

She joined Amna Nawaz for the latest episode of PBS News' podcast, Settle In, to discuss her new book, her leap from corporate law to writing novels and more.
