Canada and the European Union announced a new partnership to link supercomputers and artificial intelligence infrastructure, and collaborate on climate modelling.
Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Minister Evan Solomon and European Commission Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen made the announcement on Friday in Montreal.
"We know that for many of the researchers and startups, access to computing capacity is big obstacles. So now with combining our resources, we can really help many of them," Virkkunen said.
The announcement comes as Prime Minister Mark Carney hosts European leaders for a two-day summit focused on expanding trade and deepening ties.
