Peru installs giant Pope Leo statue ahead of papal visit

Peruvians installed a 46-foot statue of Pope Leo XIV in a park in Callao using a crane to lift its torso and head into place. Sculptor Rafael Gutierrez said it had a galvanized steel interior and a catalyzed nautical paint coating to protect it from sea salt and corrosion.
