President Donald Trump has agreed with his vice-president, JD Vance's, assessment that the Republicans lost the midterm elections because of the Iran war. And Democrats, fresh off their striking "blue wave" victory have said that ending the war, and bringing down the cost of living are their top priorities once they take majority control of the Senate and House of Representatives.

So, what will President Trump do now? Will he race to execute a new Iran plan before being curtailed by a Democrat-led Congress? Will he ramp up strikes on Iran, or go back to the negotiating table? And while leading Democrats Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries have called for the war to end, how much power will they actually have to direct US foreign policy?
