WWE superstar Ettore “Big E” Ewen credits a defensive line coach who “essentially forced” him to start therapy — a decision he says was vital to him navigating his mental health struggles.
“I am so grateful that I had advocates in my life to say, ‘You need help. And it’s okay to get help,'" Ewen said to NPR’s Michel Martin during the Morning Edition live event called Going There: A Matter of Life and Death.
Going There: A Matter of Life and Death brought together a panel of clinicians, lawmakers and people who have lived with the pain of the suicide epidemic in the Black community, in front of a live audience. It was an attempt to try to find out why this crisis is happening, how it is affecting us, and most importantly, what we can do about it.
