On Friday, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre called on the Liberal government to scrap the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program outside of communities with less than 5.5 per cent unemployment.

Poilievre said the current system is unfair to immigrants and citizens and that current immigration rates “exceed our capacity to absorb people.”

“Mark Carney wants to bring in more temporary foreign workers to make it even harder. Mark Carney is out of touch, his spending and immigration are out of control, and young people are out of jobs. Enough is enough.” Poilievre said.

The Conservative leader promised that if elected he “would get rid of that program in places with above 5.5 per cent unemployment, so that our youth and Canadian people come first for Canadian jobs.”For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca
