Town flooded in Galapagos Islands following heavy rains associated with El Nino phenomenon | AFP

A town on Santa Cruz Island, in Ecuador's Galapagos Islands, is flooded after the heavy rains that have battered the region since October 30. The rains have caused one death, left two people missing, and forced the suspension of commercial flights at one of the archipelago's airports, authorities reported.
