At least two Catholic bishops have now expressed regret for taking part in a White House meeting last week that was later made public.

An administration official shared a video on social media showing a dozen bishops praying with President Donald Trump behind the Resolute Desk.

Archbishop Jeffrey Grob of Milwaukee later said the event was "manipulated" and was in no way an endorsement of the president.

On Monday, Bishop William Joensen of Des Moines wrote, "I wish I had been more shrewd and less simple, like those who exploited our meeting for partisan political purposes. I pray I am more prudent and wise going forward."
