Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe at TechCrunch Disrupt on Mind Robotics, the industrial robotics startup he founded in 2025 and spun out of Rivian.
Mind is building AI models, robot hardware and deployment tools to automate hands-on, reasoning-heavy factory work. Rivian is a shareholder and partner, and its high-volume plant serves as a live environment for training and deploying the robots. The startup has raised more than $1B in under a year, most recently $400M led by Kleiner Perkins at a reported $3.4B valuation.
Scaringe says Mind marks "the beginning of this inflection point" in how products are built and designed.
